Installing mRemote - The connection manager open source

There are many tools to manage connections to each of the devices that need to manage, but many of them turn out to be for payment and many have no choice to make that investment. Other open source, often cover our needs, but there comes a time when we have several different tools to manage what we need.

With mRemote we got to have a centralized one, intuitive and flexible connections to all devices that need to manage, are switches, routers, servers, printers, SAN, etc. Of all the proven open source tools, mRemote meet the most demanding needs for an administrator.

The facility and its operation is easy, then we will show the steps which accompanied the article:

  1. Download and install mRemote.
  2. Create a connection mRemote.
  3. Test connections.

Download and install mRemote

The first step is to download the tool, therefore we went to the official site and in the Downloads section choose the installation package.

Once you've downloaded, run the installer. On the first screen accept the license terms by clicking the I Agree button.

We chose that location to install it, we left that appears by default and you click the Install button.

Once installation is complete we click the Next button.

Finally, check the box and do Start mRemote click the Finish button.

Create a connection mRemote

Once the application has been implemented, there are several tabs, one of them does a system check to see if all necessary components are installed. In our case the component fails Gecko, but not install it because it will make all connections with Internet Explorer.

It is advisable to have installed on our Windows ICA client, a client terminal as a client Putty and VNC. To avoid further tools that check, uncheck the Always show this screen at startup and shut.

We closed the rest of tabs opened and began to explain each of the areas of our mRemote.

Once we know the areas, we create a container where all connections will stay referred to it. We will create a container called e2H. For this we right-click on the Connections icon and choose Add Folder.

The next step is to perform the same procedure, but this time we right-click on the folder and choose the option e2H Add Connection. We create a connection to our router.

Now let's set in the properties area assign the IP, username, password and protocol. If mRemote been able to contact the IP will see a green circle.

With the same procedure we will create a connection to an AP.

Test Connections

To make the connections we just need to double click on the desired, we will open both connections.
